Salon Policies and General Information FAQ

Welcome to Mizmakeme salon . It is always at our best interest to give the clients the best salon experience, these policies have been out across to us, and are placed to enhance your experience at the salon. Trying to answer also all those mind boogling FAQs, commonly asked by our clients.

We will keep the most up to date information on our Instagram.

We hope to reopen our Salon on 4th July 2020 with appointment bookings opening on 15th June 2020.

Our stylist has completed two course that are recommended by the Hair Dressing Industry boards with regards to corona virus, these can be seen on our instagram and within our salon once it has reopened.

We have ordered stock of hand sanitiser and masks for clients and hair stylists to use throughout their appointments.

Clients will be expected to wear a mask whilst their hair is done and our hair stylists will wear face shields.

All the equipment will be cleaned down after each appointment and a deeper clean will be done every 24 hours.

If you show any symptoms before your appointment, please do not attend and follow self-isolation rules as directed by the government and inform us so that we can reschedule your appointment free of charge.

We will be enforcing a two meter distance policy when the hairstylist is not doing your hair. We will try to limit face to face interaction of less than one meter with the client being asked to face forwards and the stylist remaining behind the client.

You should expect only one person to fulfil the whole process of your hair appointment to limit exposure.

There will be no waiting area within the salon and we ask that you do not bring additional people as they will be very likely asked to remain outside. Please do not bring kids with you to your appointment if possible to help keep the salon sanitised.

We will ask that you pay with a contactless card or Apple/Google pay or via PayPal on your phone if possible to limit transmission via the exchange of cash.

Please give at least 24 hours for a response to a message, if really URGENT please call before 8pm, if after this time leave a message and you’ll be responded to in the morning.

Our Emergency/Out of Hour Appointments are as follows:

Early Morning 8am/9am Start – £20 Extra Fee

Late Night 8pm – 10pm Start £30 Extra Fee

If you want to book these hours the extra fee is occurred on top of the final payment, if so you would contact the salon to arrange for the appointment, as it is at the discretion of the stylist.

If the clients is under the age of 16 please inform the stylist, a relative will come along with the client.

In general if you want to come with someone you must ASK the stylist the day before the appointment approve of this.

Ladies with younger children please consult the stylist if it is ok as we have to follow safety guidelines as deemed by our insurance, local council and Government.

PUNCTUALITY & CANCELATION

You are required to inform the stylist 2 working days, and to bear in mind the salon is closed on Sunday and Monday.

No show or call – you will lose your deposit.

If you are more than 15mins you will be charged a late fee of £10, if you are excessively late more than this time a decision would have to be made if the appointment proceeds.

It may be rescheduled and you will lose your deposit because of this.

If the stylist is running behind, a call will be given at least 2hrs before the appointment. If the stylist cannot get through a message will be sent.

The client must communicate if they agree with the situation, and if yes this is a verbal agreement with the stylist, so client has agreed on the waiting and timing change.

If the client may not be able to adjust to the change, a free reschedule would be given.

The stylist is not permitted to give you money off for waiting or a discount as verbal agreement has been made.

Ladies have to be mindful a stylist can adjust themselves to the situation, but if a client is late it is different, due to the timing of the hairstyle and the schedule for other clients can be affected.

If the clients is under the age of 16 please inform the stylist, a relative will come along with the client.

We accept all major debit, credit cards and cash. Please make sure you know the amount you will be paying before your appointment and it is comfortable for you and the stylist, now the stylist before the appointment will verify the payment before the appointment through the message system to insure the client is aware before the day of the appointment.


NEGOTIATION on pricing is PROHIBITED, please understand the labour and work put in by the stylist there are no discounts given beside the ones which are promoted.

MizMakeMe reserves the right to request the payment upfront if the stylist deems that necessary.

The install last up to 2-4 weeks, this depends on  clients hair maintenance and activities, how the clients sleeps, bath and gym etc.

If the client would not like gaps in between the sewn tracks, it must be stated before the start of the install.

If there are more than three bundles an extra fee of £5-10 will be applied.

All tracks are double knitted at the end each row, if a knot becomes loose this is not because of the sew in, it may be through combing and bristles get caught or putting the hair in a low bun can pull on the install also.

If this happens please contact the hairdresser and whatever needs to be fix will be amended. It commonly happens for numerous reasons, so it is something that can easily be rectified , if you have travelled from far you can always give the stylist a call and arrange amendments.

If under 3-4 days free of charge, if more than 14 days a consultation would be needed on the situation.

Please it is strongly advise to inform the stylist of any issues as we have to grow together and anything that could help for the stylist to increase clients experience goes a long way.

Send a picture to the Hairline Whatsapp, and using from your head to your torso, describe where you would want the length of the hair to be styled to:

e.g. I would like my hair shoulder length.

  • A picture of the desired look,
  • The lengths and the amount of bundles or if there is a closure or frontal,
  • A responding message will be given to you within 24hrs.

Many people have long hair but their hair is light, many people have long hair and their hair is thick and hard to detangle, because of the extra time need to braid or blow dry etc, these ladies will pay a surcharge of £10, as you can understand for the stylist it is more work and added time to the appointment.

Wash – please tell the stylist before hand if this needs to be done in the morning of the day, as this takes more time and delays. If the stylist also believe their is a substance in your hair or too oily, this may result in you having to pay £10 to wash your hair, so it is essential your hair is clean when arriving at the salon.

Pre-detangling – please come with your hair your hair detangling so service can begin once you enter the salon, as a £10 fee would be added for the detangling time.

TAKE OUT – Clients who have not taken out the hair are PROHIBITED from trying to take out their hair themselves in the salon, and must tell hairdresser before arrival that they need a take out and wash.

All you would need to do is give the salon a call, then a phone consultation would be given to you, to guide you through the process.

No, at Mizmakeme we ensure the braiding is neat and pain free, so the client can enjoy their experience. As we know a lot of people are afraid of fear of needed to take painkillers and throbbing headaches.

You must ensure you have informed the stylist before hand, if the stylist also recommends this it will cost £10, also if you want to cut your weave or layer it, you WILL pay a fee of £10-20 depending on the type of cut it is, once the stylist uses the scissors to your hair there is a fee.

If the stylist would like to take a picture of you , you will always be asked permission , and if a picture is agreed on being taken you are alway provided a way if you would like your face covered. If you would like to take videos or picture you must inform the stylist beforehand especially if for vlogging or social post.


Yes you can, but always give yourself at least 1-2 weeks preparation of buying your hair, so you know it’s all ready for you at your appointment on the day, if there isn’t hair available, you are able to call the salon to ask for recommendation. If you are unsure PLEASE give a message or a call as buying the wrong type of hair or length delays the process and affect your finished look.

You are required to paying a deposit of £20, which is NON-REFUNDABLE, if there is a cancellation the deposit will be held for your next rescheduled appointment.

FRONTALS & CLOSURES

Frontal install will now only be done with frontals supplied by SHEWIGINIT or recommended by MIZMAKEME. If you do have a frontal or closure you have brought previously , a picture and the type of frontal or closure you would like to use should be sent booking the appointment, the stylist will explain if the frontal or closure can be used or not.

The same applies you MUST send a picture and the information regarding the wig before booking the appointment. This is to insure the style you would like to be created is possible and the stylist can prepare how the wig install can proceed.

Loyalty Scheme

Following the relaunch of our salon, MizMakeMe has brought our loyalty card system back in house into a new till system.

You will now receive a point for every £20 you spend on all Salon Services including add-ons and extras, excluding the £20 deposit.

You will be able to see your points balance at the bottom of your receipts which is printed or emailed.

Each point is worth £1 off your appointment service.

Yes most definitely!

All loyalty punches have been converted across to the new system based on their value.

As we are currently make conformation phone calls please mention it to the member of the team that rings and they can check your balance.

Please also remind the member of the team taking payment of you wanting to use your points before making payment so that we can process that for you.

Unfortunately if you have the old physical loyalty card that had to be stamped, we no longer accept it as we phased it out in Mid 2019. If you have further questions please call our hair line.
